How to Extract in Mistfall Hunter Safely

Combat Bags solve one of the most punishing problems in Mistfall Hunter: dying in the fog and losing everything you brought in. These pre-built loadouts let you drop into a raid without risking your own hard-earned gear, making them one of the most valuable resources in the game, especially during the early hours when your stash is still thin. There are three reliable ways to keep them stocked, and knowing which one to prioritize can make or break your progression.

What are Combat Bags and how do they work?

Combat Bags are ready-made loadouts stored in your Warehouse under the Combat Bag tab. After finishing the tutorial, you unlock access to the system, and from that point forward every bag you collect sits in one of two sections: Normal or Limited. Higher-rarity bags carry stronger gear and better healing items, so they are worth saving for tougher raids.

The catch is that each bag type has a hard inventory cap. Once you hit that ceiling, any additional bags of the same type go to waste. The Novice Combat Bag caps at 10, so burn through your stack before farming more.

How to get Combat Bags from the Scavenger Squad

This is the most repeatable method in the game. Twig, who stands next to Pip at your camp, manages the Scavenger Squad. Talk to him to open the expedition menu, pick a mission from the areas you have already unlocked through camp upgrades, and the squad heads out on a fixed timer. Once the clock runs down, return to Twig to collect the haul.

You can dispatch the squad roughly once every hour, which makes it easy to build a routine. Check the preview rewards before committing to an expedition since the list shows what the squad might bring back, including any chance at a Combat Bag.

No single run guarantees a bag, but upgrading the Scavenger Squad unlocks higher-tier expeditions that improve your odds of returning with a Pro Combat Bag or better. Treat those dispatches as a background task and you will always have Novice bags in stock.

tip
Upgrade your Scavenger Squad through camp improvements as soon as possible. Higher-tier expeditions raise the chance of Pro-rarity bags dropping, which saves you Echo of Fate for other purchases.

How to buy Combat Bags with Echo of Fate

The Season Store offers a direct purchase route using Echo of Fate, a currency tied to the Fate Chart event. Completing the repeatable quests in the Fate Chart earns Echo of Fate, and you can bank up to 3,000 per week. That weekly cap is enough to buy both the Pro Combat Bag and the Advanced Combat Bag listed in the store.

warning
The Fate Chart runs as a time-limited event. If the Season tab is empty when you check, the event has ended or is between cycles. Fall back on the Scavenger Squad and Path of Glory until it returns.

How to earn Combat Bags through Path of Glory

Path of Glory is a progression track you activate before starting a run. Performing well in matches earns progression points, and hitting specific tiers hands out Combat Bags at no cost. The two tiers that reward bags are:

  • Duskborn tier: Complete three matches to unlock a Pro Combat Bag
  • Mistwalker tier: Complete three matches to unlock an Elite Combat Bag

The three-match requirement per tier means Path of Glory is not an instant source, but the Elite Combat Bag reward at Mistwalker is one of the better free loadouts in the game. Running Path of Glory alongside your normal sessions means you are always making progress toward the next bag without any extra effort.

How do you confirm a new bag was added?

Open your Warehouse and navigate to the Combat Bag tab. The Normal section lists your Novice, Advanced, Pro, and Elite bags, while the Limited section holds any Limited Combat Bags. If a count does not increase after a payout, the bag type is almost certainly at its inventory cap. Use a few bags before your next farming session to free up space.

tip
The Novice bag cap of 10 fills up faster than most players expect. Spending a couple before each Scavenger Squad dispatch keeps the pipeline clear and prevents wasted drops.

For players still building out their roster, the Mistfall Hunter character slots guide explains how to expand from 3 slots up to 10, which pairs well with having a steady Combat Bag supply across multiple characters.

Which method should you prioritize?

The Scavenger Squad is the backbone of your Combat Bag supply. It resets every hour, costs nothing to run, and scales up as you upgrade your camp. The Season Store is worth draining your weekly Echo of Fate cap on when the Fate Chart is active, since 3,000 currency covers both purchasable bag types. Path of Glory fills in the gaps with free Pro and Elite bags as long as you are playing regularly.

Stack all three methods together and you will rarely run dry. For more strategies on managing your resources and getting the most out of each raid, the full Mistfall Hunter strategy guides collection has everything from class tier lists to quest walkthroughs.
