Yet another MMORPG has found its home on the ever-growing Ronin ecosystem. This time, Calamity, the real-time action MMORPG featuring intense dungeon raids, survival challenges, and open trading, has officially started its migration to the Ronin Network. Beginning April 28, players can migrate their Artifacts and step into a new chapter of gameplay, with enhanced rewards and a smoother experience powered by Ronin’s fast and low-cost ecosystem.

What is Calamity?

Calamity is a fast-paced MMORPG where players carve their own path through dangerous dungeons, brutal survival trials, and massive boss battles. The game offers three unique classes, over 40 skills to master, 30 customizable stats, and more than 150 items to loot, trade, or equip. With limitless build possibilities and a strong focus on strategic gameplay and player-driven trading, Calamity delivers a deep and flexible experience for adventurers.

Key Details on Calamity’s Move to Ronin Network

The migration revolves around transforming the existing Artifact NFTs (originally on Base Network) into Dragon Rings on the Ronin blockchain. The process is now live through the Calamity app, where players can migrate their Artifacts manually. Once an Artifact is burned through the migration interface, a corresponding Dragon Ring is automatically dropped to the player’s connected Ronin wallet, without the need for a claim transaction.

Calamity's Move to Ronin Network

Existing Dragon Rings are also being transferred to Ronin automatically, ensuring that both early Artifact holders and Dragon Ring collectors can continue their journey seamlessly on the new network. The move to Ronin not only brings smoother blockchain integration but also introduces a wide range of utilities for Dragon Ring holders:

  • Future WYRM Token Drop: 5% of Calamity’s token supply will be airdropped to Dragon Ring holders during the Token Generation Event (TGE), with allocation sizes depending on the original Artifact rarity.
  • Staking Rewards: Dragon Rings will be eligible for staking post-TGE, offering players additional earning opportunities.
  • Exclusive In-Game Companion and Titles: Each Dragon Ring grants a unique cosmetic dragon companion NFT and unlocks a special in-game title when staked.
  • Daily Buff Scrolls: Coming in the next major playtest, Dragon Rings will generate daily scrolls that boost EXP and item drop rates, with scroll power scaling based on the ring's rarity.
  • Play-to-Airdrop (P2A) Multiplier: During upcoming Play-to-Airdrop events, staking Dragon Rings will provide a multiplier to leaderboard points and rewards.
  • Future Drops and Whitelists: Ring holders will continue to receive additional perks, including access to exclusive drops and whitelists tied to the game's evolving content.

Ronin Marketplace support for Dragon Rings and Artifacts is also on the horizon, giving players new trading opportunities directly within the Ronin ecosystem.

Final Thoughts

Calamity’s migration to Ronin marks an important step forward for the game’s future. With the move complete, the team is already gearing up for a new playtest event with prizes, followed by a major Play-to-Airdrop campaign to reward early supporters. Beyond that, players can look forward to an even bigger update as Calamity evolves into a full open-world sandbox MMORPG, complete with seasonal content, quests, deeper progression systems, and expanded gameplay features. By joining the Ronin Network, Calamity is positioning itself at the heart of a fast-growing web3 gaming community, offering players better accessibility, lower fees, and a smoother overall experience.
