Fortnite: MrSavage Icon Cup Guide

Epic Games is putting real money on the line. The Fortnite PlayStation MrSavage Cup begins on March 21, 2026, launching alongside Chapter 7 Season 2: Showdown, and breaks from the usual cosmetics-only reward structure by offering actual cash payouts to players who secure Victory Royales.

The collaboration with MrSavage, a fixture in competitive Fortnite, elevates this into one of the more significant community tournaments tied to the season's debut.

A Two-Day Structure Built Around Solo Play

The competition spans two days. Qualifiers start on March 21 at 10 AM ET and last three hours, ending at 1 PM ET. Players who accumulate sufficient points move forward to the Finals on March 22, which run from 10 AM ET to roughly 12:40 PM ET.

It's Solo Battle Royale—no teammates, just individual performance. Each elimination is worth 2 points, and the top 100 point-earners per region during qualifiers advance to the Finals. Competitors can play up to 10 matches in the qualifier phase and a maximum of 6 matches in the Finals.

Your Epic Games account must be at level 50 or above, have 2FA enabled, and carry no bans or suspensions within the last 14 days to be eligible. The minimum age requirement is 13.

What's Actually at Stake

Victory Royales in the Finals translate directly into cash. The payout varies by region:

Alongside the cash, there's a full set of cosmetics tied to placement. The centerpiece is the "MrSavage" In-Game Cosmetic Outfit, awarded to top finishers across all regions, plus items like the "Siren's Slicer" Pickaxe, "200 IQ" Backbling, "Savage's Style" Wrap, and two emotes: "Skill Scanner" and "Get Cooked". A broader group of players can unlock the "Savage Siren" Outfit, with thresholds adjusted by region.

In EU, the MrSavage outfit goes to the top 300 finishers, while OCE, ASIA, and ME limit that to the top 30. Anyone who hits the 8-point threshold also receives an In-Game Banner, so even mid-tier performers walk away with something.

Timing It to Chapter 7 Season 2

Scheduling this tournament to coincide with the Chapter 7 Season 2: Showdown launch is a calculated move. The return of The Foundation and Ice King has generated significant buzz, and hosting a high-stakes solo cup at the start of a new season ensures the meta is unsettled, no one has months of practice with the current loadout, and the competitive landscape is as open as it gets in Fortnite.

Players looking to understand the meta shifts heading into this event should review the changes introduced in Chapter 7 Season 2, as the fresh weapon pool and map adjustments will directly impact solo play strategy.

A non-cash version of the tournament runs simultaneously for players in regions or circumstances where prize money isn't distributed, with identical cosmetic rewards available. The MrSavage outfit and related items are genuinely accessible regardless of which bracket you're competing in.

If you're planning to compete, verify your account eligibility now and start refining your Solo approach for a fresh meta. Make sure to check out more:
