What makes Mega Skarmory worth fighting
The Steel/Flying dual typing gives Mega Skarmory a staggering 10 resistances, including Dragon, Fairy, Ground, Psychic, Normal, Flying, and Steel. Bug, Grass, and Poison hits barely tickle it. That bulk is part of what makes it a solid Mega to have in your roster.

Super Mega Raids are not solo content. The recommendation is at least 9 other trainers alongside you. High-level players running optimal teams might push through with 5 or 6 similarly tuned friends, but that's the floor, not the expectation.
If your legendary bench is thin, stack your strongest Fire and Electric-type Pokémon and make sure Community Day or legacy moves are equipped where possible. That's where the real damage ceiling sits.
Best moveset for Mega Skarmory after the catch
Once you've beaten the raid and caught your Skarmory, the recommended moveset leans into its Psychic-type potential rather than its Steel or Flying moves. The best setup is Confusion as the Fast Move and Psystrike as the Charged Move, which positions it as a top Psychic-type attacker.
For Master League PvP, the optimal loadout shifts to Psycho Cut, Psystrike, and Shadow Ball, though the Shadow version outperforms the standard one if you have access to it.
