Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds | SEGA

The four most famous turtles in pop culture history just crashed Sonic's race. SEGA has released the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pack for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds today across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, and it's exactly the kind of crossover that makes you wonder why it took this long.

What's actually in the pack

The pack covers all four turtles as playable characters: Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo. Each one comes with six unique emotes, which is a solid amount of personality for a kart racer. Beyond the characters themselves, the pack adds a Pizzafire Van as a driveable vehicle, a brand-new New York City course, and a set of TMNT-inspired music tracks baked into the soundtrack.

Here's the breakdown of everything included:

  • Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo as playable racers
  • Pizzafire Van vehicle
  • New York City course
  • TMNT-themed music tracks
  • 6 emotes per character (24 total across the four turtles)

That's a reasonably stacked content drop for a single DLC pack.

Pricing and how to get it

The standalone Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pack costs $5.99. If you already own the Digital Deluxe Edition, the pack is included automatically through the Season Pass. The Season Pass is also available separately for $29.99 if you want to cover all current and future content drops in one go.

tip
Players who do not own the TMNT Pack can still race online against those who do, including on the New York City course. You just won't be able to play as the turtles themselves.

That's a smart call from SEGA. Keeping the course accessible to non-buyers means the player pool doesn't fragment, which matters in a kart racer where online lobbies are the main event.

Why this crossover works

Here's the thing: TMNT and Sonic share more DNA than people give them credit for. Both properties exploded in the late 80s and early 90s, both leaned hard into Saturday morning cartoon energy, and both have been cycling through revivals ever since. Putting them in the same kart racer feels less like a random brand deal and more like a reunion.

The New York City course is the real standout addition here. A dedicated track built around the turtles' home turf gives the DLC an identity beyond just slapping new skins on existing content. TMNT-specific music tracks reinforce that, making the pack feel like a genuine expansion rather than a character pack with a map thrown in.

What most players miss with crossover DLC like this is how much the emote count matters for long-term engagement. Six emotes per character means there's actual variety when you're sitting on the podium or taunting mid-race, and with four characters that's 24 new animations added to the game in one shot.

Getting the most out of your time in CrossWorlds

If the TMNT drop has you jumping back into the game (or starting fresh), the unlock systems in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds reward consistent play more than most kart racers. The friendship rewards system is one of the better ways to earn cosmetics without spending extra, and it's worth understanding before you sink too many tickets into the wrong progression path.

The pack is live now on all platforms. If you want a full breakdown of what Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds delivers before committing to the Season Pass, check out our in-depth review for the full picture.
