Spider-Man Returns to Fortnite in Chapter 7 Season 3 Final Update

Patch v41.30 went live on July 30, kicking off downtime at 4 a.m. ET and delivering far more content than most players expected from a season-closing update. Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 is going out with a genuine bang, not a quiet fade, and Spider-Man is headlining the send-off.

The web-slinger is back, and the timing is deliberate

The Spider-Man return ties directly to the theatrical release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The new Spider-Man: Brand New Day skin set is expected to hit the Item Shop on July 31 when it refreshes at 8 p.m. ET. While players wait for the cosmetics to go live, Web-Shooters have been temporarily unvaulted to mark the occasion.

Here's the thing: the Web-Shooters aren't just sitting in floor loot. You can grab them by visiting the Spider-Man NPC at The Battlewoods POI or by hunting down Spider-Man's Backpacks, a returning loot container type that's been reintroduced specifically for this event. It's a clean way to tie the movie promotion into actual gameplay without just slapping a skin in the shop and calling it done.

Spider-Man's Web-Shooters are only unvaulted temporarily to celebrate the Brand New Day movie release. Grab them while they're available.

Everything else v41.30 is bringing to the table

Spider-Man is the headline, but the rest of this patch is stacked. The Simpsons are back in Fortnite via a limited-time event, and this time they're bringing John Wick and The Continental Hotel along for the ride. Both will appear in the new Reload map set in Springfield, which runs as the only available Reload island until Monday. Battle Pass owners should check the Reload Quests tied to this event, as completing them unlocks an alternate style for the John Wick skin.

On the Festival side, rapper Lil Tecca is the music icon for Festival Season 15. His cosmetics unlock through stage performance, so expect the Festival queue to see a bump in activity this week.

The Sprite system also got a meaningful expansion with v41.30. New Holofoil and Cube variants for the Reaper and Zero Point Sprites are now obtainable, and three brand-new Sprites have been added: Lootin' Llama, Peeky Peely, and Quack. Leveling Sprites up progresses the Sprite Master track, which now rewards the Lucky Locator Gizmo, a new item that spawns a chest with boosted drop rates for Sprites you haven't collected yet. For anyone trying to complete their collection before Season 4, that gizmo is worth chasing.

For a full breakdown of all the new Sprites and their abilities, the Fortnite v41.30 patch notes guide covers everything confirmed in this update.

A season finale that actually feels like one

What most players miss about final-week updates is that Epic almost always uses them to set the stage for what comes next, not just clean up loose ends. The sheer volume of collaborations landing in v41.30, Spider-Man, The Simpsons, John Wick, and Lil Tecca all in one patch, signals that Epic wants the Chapter 7 Season 3 exit to feel like an event rather than a cooldown period.

The patch also includes new Story Quests, a story event, Spider-Man Power Hours, and a wave of new emotes, skins, and sidekicks. Season 4 is still on the horizon, and Epic is clearly keeping the player count warm while the next chapter gets ready to launch.

If you want to get ahead before the season wraps, the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 guides collection has everything you need to make the most of the time left, from Sprite unlocks to Battle Pass progression.
