Ubisoft Games Are Now Free on PC If You Own Them on Xbox

Xbox and Ubisoft just made a move that console-to-PC players will genuinely appreciate: 13 Ubisoft titles are now part of Xbox's Console to PC program, meaning if you own any of them on Xbox, you get the PC version at no extra cost.

The announcement landed on Xbox Wire on July 27, 2026, and the rollout is already underway for new purchases. If you buy a digital copy of any qualifying title on Xbox from today, you get both the Xbox and PC versions automatically.

The full list of qualifying titles

Here's every game now covered under the program:

  • Assassin's Creed Mirage
  • Assassin's Creed Valhalla
  • Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
  • Far Cry 6
  • Immortals Fenyx Rising
  • Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
  • Riders Republic
  • Skull and Bones
  • The Crew 2
  • The Crew Motorfest
  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction
  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
  • Watch Dogs Legion

That's a solid spread across genres, from open-world RPGs and shooters to racing games. Rainbow Six Siege alone makes this worth paying attention to, given how active its PC player base still is.

When existing owners get their copies

New digital purchases get both versions immediately. If you already own any of these games on Xbox, the PC version isn't live for you quite yet. Xbox confirmed a progressive rollout period begins on August 4, so existing owners have a short wait ahead.

important
This is a one-way deal. Owning the PC version of any of these games does not grant you the Xbox edition. Only Xbox ownership unlocks the PC copy, not the other way around.

What carries over and what doesn't

The key here is cross-progression. If a game in this list supports it, your save data and earned progress from the Xbox version will be available on PC. That's a meaningful perk for anyone deep into a playthrough of Valhalla or Far Cry 6.

What most players miss in these announcements: in-game currencies and consumables you've already purchased on Xbox will not transfer to the PC version. Anything tied to a separate storefront transaction stays platform-locked. So if you've stacked up Helix Credits on Xbox, those aren't coming with you.

You'll also need an up-to-date install of Ubisoft Connect on your PC to access these titles. The PC versions run through Ubisoft's own launcher rather than directly through the Xbox app.

What this program actually means for players

Xbox's Console to PC initiative has been expanding steadily, and this Ubisoft batch is one of the larger publisher additions it's seen. The program effectively turns your Xbox digital library into a cross-platform one, at least for participating titles. For anyone who picked up these games during Xbox sales or through Game Pass purchases, it removes the friction of double-dipping just to play on a different screen.

The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest being included is particularly interesting given Ubisoft's history with that franchise. Both games are live-service titles that benefit from a larger active player pool, so expanding access to PC makes sense beyond just goodwill.

This move fits a broader pattern of publishers treating cross-platform ownership as a feature rather than a revenue opportunity. EA Play has done something similar with trial access, as covered in our College Football 27 free play guide. Microsoft itself has been expanding loyalty perks across its ecosystem, including free car rewards for Forza players detailed in the Forza Horizon 6 loyalty rewards guide.

If you own any of these 13 games on Xbox, check your Ubisoft Connect library on PC after August 4. For more coverage on what's launching and how to get the most out of your library across platforms, the gaming guides hub has you covered.
