The Memory Pendant is one of the most specialized pieces of gear in Anime Expeditions on Roblox, and it's locked behind a stage that punishes players who go in blind. With only a 4% natural drop rate from Crow Hideout Act 2, you can burn through a lot of runs without seeing it once. The good news: there's a built-in pity system, a clear stat ceiling to chase, and a passive mechanic that completely changes how Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) plays once the pendant is equipped.
What is the Memory Pendant and who can use it?
The Memory Pendant is a Unit-type Equipment, meaning it's class-locked to a single character. Only Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) can equip it. If you farm this pendant before pulling that unit from the Villain Banner, every drop goes to waste.
Beyond the stat boosts, the pendant overrides the unit's base Reckless Control passive with an upgraded version built around a Black Magic meter. That meter starts at 0 and shifts between two distinct combat states depending on how it fills and drains. This isn't a minor buff, it's a fundamental change to how the unit operates on the field.

How to get the Memory Pendant in Anime Expeditions
Step 1: Pull Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) first
Before spending a single energy potion on Crow Hideout, confirm you have Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) in your roster. Pull from the active Villain Banner if you haven't already. There's no point farming Unit-type Equipment for a character you don't own.
Step 2: Enter the Villain Invasion Event
From the main lobby, open the event menu and locate the Villain Invasion Event portal. This is a separate playlist from the standard map rotation, so you won't find it in the regular stage select.
Step 3: Farm Crow Hideout Act 2
This is the only stage that drops the Memory Pendant. Queue into Crow Hideout Act 2 and clear it. The pendant has a 4% drop rate per successful completion. That's low enough that many players finish 10 or more runs without seeing it.
Co-op lobbies are the fastest way to hit that 20-run mark. Teaming up with other players speeds up clears significantly, especially on a high-difficulty event stage.
Step 4: Reroll your stats
Dropping the pendant is only half the job. The Memory Pendant has two rollable stats: Crit Chance and Damage, each ranging from 1% to 10%. A pendant that rolls 2% on both stats is technically functional but practically useless at high-tier content.
Spend your Equipment Rerolls until both stats land at 9% or higher. That's the practical target. Hitting the 10% cap on both is ideal, but 9+ on each already puts your damage output in a noticeably different bracket.

How does the Black Magic meter work?
This is where the Memory Pendant earns its reputation. Equipping it replaces the standard Reckless Control passive with a meter-driven system that creates two distinct combat phases.
The meter starts at 0. As the unit walks, it climbs at 5 per second, pushing the unit into the Caring State, which covers 75% of the unit's range but deals only 50% damage. When the meter drains, it drops at 2 per second while walking, entering the Cold State: damage spikes to 150% but range collapses to just 25%.
The practical implication is that placement matters more with this unit than almost any other. During the Cold State, Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) hits much harder but needs enemies close enough to be in that compressed 25% range window. Positioning him near chokepoints or high-density enemy paths is the move.
Farming tips to cut down your run count
- Always complete the stage. Partial clears don't count toward the pity threshold.
- Join co-op lobbies. Faster clears mean more runs per session, getting you to that 20-run guarantee sooner.
- Check your character roster before queuing. Farming without Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) unlocked means any pendant drop is dead inventory.
- Save reroll materials. Don't spend Equipment Rerolls on low-priority gear when a pendant farm is coming up.
What stats should you prioritize on the Memory Pendant?
Both rollable stats serve the same goal: maximizing burst damage during the Cold State window. Crit Chance increases how often you proc critical hits, while Damage scales the base output directly. Neither stat has a meaningful edge over the other, so aim for 9% or 10% on both rather than stacking one at the expense of the other.
A pendant sitting at 10% Crit Chance and 10% Damage is the ceiling. Getting there might take several rerolls, but the difference between a 3% roll and a 9% roll is immediately visible in high-difficulty stages where Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) is your primary damage dealer.
